Nobody wakes up wanting to be the villain.
They wake up wanting something else.

Money.
Respect.
Revenge.
Somebody's wife.
The last cannoli.

Villainy comes later.

Because the end justifies the means.
Because they’re entitled.
Because somebody was stupid enough to be in the way.

The best antagonists see themselves as normal people surrounded by people making their lives unnecessarily difficult.
 
Villains don't have to think they're evil.
They just have to think they're right.
