Construction is hard.
I know.
I’m writing a mystery.
Foundation is solid.
Structural supports properly placed.
Load-bearing elements positioned.
I know the victim.
I know the killer.
But who and how are different things.
I have to get motive, method and opportunity
onto the page without the reader seeing the machinery.
I know who you’re supposed to think did it.
I know who really did it.
And I owe you an ending that makes you feel
like you should have known all along.
