DISPATCH FROM THE CITY
Something's always happening in Noir City. Most people keep walking. Investigators notice. Make your choice. See what happens.
The Phone
It’s 7:36 P.M. at Dead Guy Pier.
You’re walking along the waterfront when you hear a phone ringing.
A smartphone is lying on the wet boards ahead of you.
You look around.
No one is nearby.
The phone keeps ringing.
You glance at the screen:
PICK UP NOW
WHAT DO YOU DO?
You leave the phone where it is and keep walking.
The ringing stops.
You make it halfway down the pier.
Your own phone rings.
You take it out.
The screen reads:
PICK UP NOW
You pick up the phone.
“Hello?”
A man’s voice answers.
“You’re not Eddie.”
You look around the pier.
“Who’s Eddie?”
There’s a pause.
“The man who was supposed to answer that phone.”
The call ends.
Behind you, a car door slams.
