The Chair
Every morning, the same empty chair sits against the boarded-up building.
Nobody ever sits in it.
Tonight, something has changed.
The chair has been moved to the middle of the sidewalk.
As you get closer, you notice something underneath it.
WHAT DO YOU DO?
You crouch beside the chair.
There's a photograph underneath it.
It's you.
You're walking past this same building yesterday morning.
On the back, someone has written:
TOMORROW, SIT DOWN.
You decide not to touch it.
You step around the chair and keep walking.
Halfway down the block, you hear the click of a camera shutter.
You turn.
The sidewalk is empty.
The chair is still there.
The photograph is gone.
